Dear Parents
This
week we have all enjoyed the sunshine and the start of summer!
Now seems to be a good time to remind you to send a named
hat into school for the children to wear when working and
playing outside. If you would lie to send some sun block into
school please put your child’s name on the tube/pack. Staff are
unable to apply the sun block so please show your child how to
do so, wipes or sticks may make this process easier.
The Year 2 children all had a fantastic
time at Warwick Castle on Tuesday, read some of their comments
at the end of the newsletter.
Yesterday our school governors met to
discuss the school learning environment. We considered ways in
which the children’s learning opportunities could be enhanced
through the improvement of our buildings and site. We also
reviewed the school health and safety policy.
This week we welcomed Miss Taylor to work
in Reception. Miss Taylor is a student at Warwick University on
her final teaching placement. She will be working closely
alongside the reception team. Next week we look forward to the
Year 1 visit to Compton Verney on Tuesday and a meeting of the
governors finance committee.
Mrs Bradbury
Head Lice
There
have been quite a few cases of head lice reported in school.
This can be a problem from time to time, so please ensure that
you check your child’s hair regularly and let us know as soon as
possible if you think there is a problem. It would also be
helpful if children with long hair have it tied up at school, to
reduce the risk of head lice spreading. If you would like
further advice on the matter please contact our School Health
Advisor, at Kenilworth Clinic. We now have Head Lice Combs in
school, at a cost of 80p each. If you would like to purchase
one please call into the office.
Dinner Money Reminder
Dinner money for Thursday 3
April to Thursday 22 May will be £56.00. If you would like to
pay for the whole term it will be £112.00 (until 18th
July) Please make cheques payable to WCC. If you know of any
days your child will be away from school please deduct them from
this total.
Two Castles Run
Sponsorship forms are now available from
school reception. Please use these forms so that we can claim
gift aid and perhaps
even
get pound for pound funding form the Rotary Club. The sponsor
form must be handed in with the funds raised for Gift Aid and
Pound for Pound. ‘Team Thorns’
t-shirts will soon be available so watch
this space for your size request. If you are not planning on
running then please support the team on June 8th – they will be
the ones with red t-shirts and equally red faces!
